Just 2 weeks after Platinum Equity finalized its acquisition of American Commercial Lines (a deal with an enterprise value of about $777 million), it looks Platinum might be making a play for the Detroit Pistons. According to several reports, Platinum chief Tom Gores, who was raised in the Flint, Mich. area, has a 30-day exclusive-bid window for the NBA franchise.
