Radio host's streak to end

Radio host's streak to end

For the past 274 Saturdays, Kent Brown has been in the Sacramento, Calif. studio of Sports 1140 KHTK prior to 5 a.m. to host his Ultimate Bass Radio program – the only radio show in the West dedicated entirely to bass fishing. He's never had a fill-in host and has never aired a pre-recorded show.

That streak will end on Christmas morning, however, as the station will run a "Best of Ultimate Bass Radio" show in order to allow Brown to spend the holiday with his family.

"With Christmas falling on Saturday this year, I didn't have a choice but to air a 'Best of' show, so I will be replaying the show from Dec. 18," said Brown, whose streak dates to the program's inception in 2005. "But since I had to end the streak, I called out the 'A team' to record the 'Best of' show. We all get to hang out with Skeet Reese, Kevin Van Dam, Mark Zona and a few other anglers to find out how they celebrate the Christmas holiday."

Ultimate Bass is broadcast from 5 to 6 a.m. on Saturdays and is streamed live at www.ultimatebassradio.com. A free podcast is also available on iTunes.

Brown will be back in the studio to start a new streak on New Years Day.
