Rapala promotes three

Rapala USA, member of the Rapala VMC Group that also includes brands like Sufix, Storm, Blue Fox and Terminator, announced several promotions this week. Here they are: Kelly Brockpahler to marketing director, David James to manager of field promotions and media relations, and Ryan Rohrbach to controller.

In her new role, Brockpahler will oversee the company's marketing strategy and direction. Brockpahler began her relationship with Rapala in January 2004 and quickly shifted to marketing manager in 2005.

"It's been a privilege to grow with such a great organization," Brockphaler said. "I look forward to expanding my role and continuing to demonstrate my enthusiasm for our brands."

James, in his new role, will manage all pro-staff operations and endorsements and serve as a point of contact for media and industry representatives. James began working with promotions at Rapala in 2004 and has served as an ambassador for the company at various tournaments and events.

"As an outdoor enthusiast, it's been amazing to marry my professional and personal interests with Rapala," James said. "I'm excited to take on my new responsibilities."

Rohrbach will assume full responsibility for monthly financial reporting to Rapala corporate (Helsinki, Finland) along with continued responsibility for the human-resource functions of payroll and benefits. Rohrbach joined the organization in 2003 as staff accountant and in 2006 was promoted to assistant controller.

"I'm excited to take on a broader role in the company to impact both the financial and staff sides of the business," Rohrbach said.

Rapala USA president Tom Mackin noted: "Marketing, promotions, media relations, human resources and financial management are important areas of responsibility, and Kelly, David and Ryan offer a wealth of in-depth knowledge and a remarkable passion for Rapala that'll continue to strengthen the company."
