Time Warner-Disney deal

After what seemed to be long, bitter negotiations, Time Warner and Disney-ESPN reached an agreement late yesterday. That means there'll be no interruption of ESPN and Disney service on Time Warner Cable, one of the largest cable providers in the country.

It also means that Time Warner customers will be able to watch ESPN3, which was a sore spot this year for BassFans, since BASS weigh-ins aired live exclusively on ESPN3. Apparently, ESPN was one of the major stumbling blocks in the negotiations. Time Warner must pay or somehow recompense ESPN to offer the service.

Whether future BASS weigh-ins will air exclusively on ESPN3 isn't known, as BASS is about to enter a new phase of ownership. One of the new owners will be Don Logan, who formerly served as CEO of AOL-Time Warner.
