TBF junior champs crowned

The TBF Junior World Championship was decided yesterday and winners were handed the trophy onstage at the day-3 Forrest Wood Cup weigh-in in Duluth, Ga.

The juniors fished Lake Lanier concurrently with the Cup field.

Greg Zellers from Winamac, Ind. took home the 15-18 age-group title, while Shane Edgar of Glendale, Ariz. bested the 11-14 field.

Zellers and Edgar both received $5,000 scholarships plus thousands of dollars in sponsor merchandise.

"I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am right now," Zellers said. "It's exciting – a dream come true."

Edgar noted: "It just hasn't sunk in yet. I just want to thank Tammy Cox at Berkley – I ordered some rods late, and she made sure she got them to me. Also, I used some new reels all week."
