Tenn. River closed (updated)

FLW Outdoors postponed this weekend's Kentucky Lake BFL to June 19. Takeoff and weigh-in locations are TBA. The league has not yet made a decision concerning next week's Kentucky Lake AFS.

The U.S. Coast Guard has closed a major portion of the Tennessee River to recreational traffic. The closed portion stretches from mile-marker 0 At Paducah, Ky. to mile-marker 206 at Pickwick Landing. Barkley, a Cumberland River lake, is also closed.

The closure does not affect this week's Guntersville Bassmaster Elite Series, which is upriver from the closure, but the news does highlight how serious and tragic the flooding conditions are in Tennessee.

The TVA reports on its site that Guntersville will be "spilling until further notice" in order to keep water moving through the system.

The final day of last week's Pickwick Elite Series was cut short due to severe weather.

There is a Kentucky Lake BFL scheduled for this Saturday that could likely be canceled. A Kentucky Lake AFS is scheduled for the following week.
