Swindle: Three deals

Alabama Bassmaster Elite Series angler Gerald Swindle has two new sponsorships and one expanded deal for the 2010 season.

One of his new deals is with Total Pain Solutions (TPS), a Fultondale, Ala.-based compounding pharmacy that produces custom topical pain-reducing medications for each individual patient. The company treats acute, chronic, and degenerative-type pain with special emphasis on workers and athletes.

Swindle, a former house-framer, endured five back surgeries between the ages of 21 and 35, and has had 10 bone spurs removed from his shoulders.

“Gerald uses our topical anti-inflammatory on his back and shoulders with a lot of success," said Grady Phillips of TPS. "He’s a great example of our ability to help people, and we strongly believe Gerald can serve as a great example to thousands of other anglers who suffer from back, elbow, shoulder and other pain that hinders their ability to fish and compete effectively."

He's also signed on with Sealy Outdoors, the producers of the renowned "Big Bass Splash" tournaments.

“Gerald’s a pro who relates extremely well to the grassroots angler," said Nicole Sealy. "His humor and compassion for everybody who shares his love of fishing is remarkable."

His expanded deal is with Wright & McGill – he'll play a bigger role in marketing the company's Trokar hooks.

“Those hooks are so sharp I’m having to use some of my new sponsor dollars to pay somebody to tie them on for me so I don’t cut myself,” he cracked.
