Hite lands Evergreen

Hite lands Evergreen

Phoenix, Ariz. pro Brett Hite signed a new endorsement deal with Evergreen International of Japan. Evergreen is widely regarded as one of the preeminent tackle manufacturers in Japan, especially noted for its hardbaits (examples shown to right include the Super Sledge jerkbait, Rat-Tat wakebait and Professional Football jig). Under terms of the deal, Hite will represent Evergreen baits and rods.

Although Hite made his name as a deep-structure finesse-fisherman, more recently he's gained acclaim for power-techniques, which should be a perfect fit for Evergreen.

Hite won back-to-back events in 2008 – the Toho FLW Tour and Delta Western FLW Series.

He joins Bassmaster Elite Series pro Morizo Shimizu on the staff.

"Evergreen is the premier company in Japan," Hite noted. "Their hardbaits and rods are just unbelievable. Their finishes are incredible. Their jigs are a little expensive, but they're the nicest hand-tied jigs you'll ever see."

According to Hite, Evergreen will make its first appearance at the ICAST industry tradeshow this summer, which is a clear signal the company is finally ready to attempt penetration into the U.S. market. Anglers on these shores have been able to get Evergreen baits for a long time – there exists a loose, but dedicated group of Japanese tackle importers – but Hite noted that Evergreen USA is in the works.
