The new Elites?

Big news over in the inshore world today that BassFans might find interesting: The Redfish Cup released the final roster for its new elite format. The goal, according to league officials, is to mold a redfish tour in the same vein as the Bassmaster Elite Series, with a smaller, closed field and a future qualification system. There's some hubbub, too, about which teams got picked for the Cup, and which ones didn't. To check out the story, click here to visit InshoreFan.com.

> A little backstory: Tour-level inshore fishing somewhat parallels tour-level bass fishing, in that at least two leagues offer top-level competition. In fact, there are three primary redfish leagues. The Redfish Cup is owned and operated by JM Associates (now Career Sports Entertainment). The FLW Redfish Tour is owned and operated by FLW Outdoors and closely parallels the FLW Tour in terms of open fields and sponsor restrictions. The IFA Redfish Tour is owned and operated by the Inshore Fishing Association.
