Angel anglers

BASS recently reported on a cool deal that happened prior to the Bassmaster Legends Major at Dardanelle.

On their way to the event, Aaron Martens, Skeet Reese, Kevin Short, Alton Jones, Peter Thliveros, and Chris Lane swung by the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

The six pros visited with kids that were staying at the hospital, which often happens in connection with various Elite Series events. In fact, any Elite Series pro who wants to give his time can join the group, called Angel Anglers, which has been entertaining hospitalized kids for about 3 years.

The Aug. 19 visit was the group's third to the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Alton Jones said of his first Angel Angler visit: "The experience brought out a lot of emotions — it was touching, humbling and at the same time, really fun. We got to let down our guard and be kids ourselves and just have fun."
