Ellison leaves PAA

The Professional Anglers Association (PAA) recently reported that Gene Ellison has left the organization to return to private business. Ellison had served as executive director since shortly after the new PAA formed. The recent addition of GM Craig Lamb was said to have made Ellison's return to private business possible.

PAA president Mark Davis noted: "The PAA could never repay Gene for all the tireless work he's done, and even though he may be leaving, he'll always be part of the PAA. Gene has requested on several occasions that he'd like to get his life back. Now, as Craig Lamb – our newly hired general manager – takes over, Gene can return to his family and his business with the knowledge of a job well done. Thanks to Gene, the PAA has become a voice in professional fishing that people around the world are listening to."

Ellison said: "It's been an absolute honor and a pleasure to have been chosen to hold this significant position with the PAA during these critical years. The timing's right. I can now recharge my batteries knowing the PAA is in such capable hands with Craig Lamb, Mark Davis, Gary Klein and the rest of the board members."
