New Army trail

The BassFan Army announced today the addition of two new sanctioned trails – SABBA, and Fishing with Jim Austin. The two are independent entities, but are affiliated and share a championship. Along with the opportunity to win contingency awards, the two organizations now provide anglers with a chance to qualify for the Weekend Warrior Championship (WWC) by way of the Fishing With Jim Austin Classic Championship. The event will qualify three teams to the WWC next spring.

One example of why the BassFan Army is proud to have this group onboard occurred June 9th, when the West Side Bass club – a leading club in the organization – held its annual Kids Catfish Derby on Lake Loren, which is west of Birmingham, Ala. Over 300 kids attended the event and were treated to a day of fishing and food. BassFan VP of membership Al Smith noted, in reference to the kids derby: "It's dedication like this that makes us proud to welcome them into the BassFan Army family."

Smith added that Quad State, which is also affiliated with the organizations, has chosen not to participate at this time. In order for Quad State members to qualify for the WWC, they must sign up for the BassFan Army on their own. Signup information can be found below.
