Strike King is coming out with new Coffee Tubes (coffee-flavored), which will be in stores Nov. 1. Here's the story behind them:
Troy Gibson of soft-plastic manufacturer Southern Plastics got home from bass fishing one day and threw his leftover crackers in the water. Naturally, a bunch of bream swam up and started chomping on them.
Then he finished his coffee and threw what was left in his cup in the water. The bream left the crackers and went to his coffee. Hmm.
Later, at home, he took some coffee grounds out to his boat dock and waited for the automatic fish feeder to go off. When it did, the water went nuts with feeding fish as it always did. He walked 5 yards away and threw the grounds in the water – and all the fish stopped eating the feed and ran over to the coffee.
From those observations have come the Strike King Coffee Tubes, which initially will be available in 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 inches and eight colors.
