Ranger recently unveiled its new 17-foot 170VS. Rated for up to 115 hp, the shorter boat is said to fish big – a great compromise for those who want to save on gas money, or have limited storage space (it fits in most garages). It's also a perfect match for many of today's smaller tow vehicles.
Ranger president Randy Hopper noted: "The 170VS is a factory-equipped, full-featured rig built to open up even more opportunities to anglers and families. Comfort, convenience and fishability take center stage with this design and our upright, level foam floatation delivers even more peace of mind. Whether you're looking at combining this with vehicles of limited towing capacity, or hitting the road with the added freedom of RV travel, the 170VS is an ideal matchup to a wide variety of fishing lifestyles."
The rig includes many of the standards found on top-end bass machines, like a recirculating, aerated livewell with filter screens and timers, rod storage under both sides of the front deck, a center storage compartment, and more. A single-axle, custom-matched RangerTrail trailer is included.
