A weekend-long event to help disabled servicemen and women enjoy outdoor recreational activities will be conducted Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Camp ASCCA (Alabama's Special Camp for Children and Adults) near Jackson Gap, Ala.
The event, sponsored by the Lakeshore Foundation, is called Operation Adventure. Activities will include bass fishing, clay-target shooting, archery, small-bore rifle shooting, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, scuba diving and climbing sports.
There is no cost to military personnel with severe service-related injuries, and one guest may also attend for free. The weekend includes all meals, outdoor adventure experiences and camp activities, lodging and a travel stipend to cover airfare or mileage to and from the camp.
