Sometimes we sit back and realize that some folks just don't get this bass-fishing thing. That happened recently when the BassFan staff received a new-product offer that touted the Aquazone Bass Edition screensaver from Allume Systems (maker of Stuffit and other fine software).
The introductory line of the note says it all: "Are you a fan of bass fishing? Bring the lake to your PC or Mac with Aquazone Bass Edition! Marvel at the actions of the bass as they pursue and eat the baitfish. Enjoy the intricate details of the bluegill, rainbow trout, and snakehead!"
Yep, that's snakehead – the invasive species first discovered in Maryland in 2002 that poses a serious threat to America's sportfisheries.
How about a screensaver that shows armies of bloodthirsty largemouths exterminating the hated snakeheads? Now that's something we'd like to see.
