National Scouting Report (NSR) announced recently that the company will be moving into the realm of bass fishing. For over 40 years, NSR has helped athletes from around the world live out their dream of playing college athletics. Now NSR will be assisting high school anglers who want the opportunity to fish in college.
“The timing is finally right," said NSR president Rusty Rigney. "We have a strong passion for tournament fishing and have been patiently waiting for the last few years. With the explosion of high school and collegiate fishing, now is the time for NSR to help these fishing recruits.”
Since 1980, NSR has had a proven success record working with athletes in traditional sports such as baseball, football, volleyball, and softball. Now, the same technology and experience will be put to use for high school anglers.
“This is a full marketing plan for the high school fisherman”, said Larry Perrin, a longtime high-level tournament anglers and a scout for NSR. “It’s not just marketing their abilities, it's about showing coaches you have the grades, character and versatility to be a good teammate at the college level.”
Dustin Connell, MLF pro and reigning REDCREST champion, said: “I wish I would have had NSR when I was a high school fisherman. When NSR approached me about the idea, I couldn't help but think about how I wished I would've had something like this when I was looking to go to college. What I needed was a plan. This is exactly the plan that I am talking about.”
NSRFishing.com is online and allows anglers and their parents an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the company and the upcoming launch of its program, which will officially kick off on Sept. 1.
Through the use of its extensive college coach network, NSR connects student-athletes with colleges and universities nationwide to continue their education while playing the sports they love. The NSR team is made up of former professional and collegiate athletes and coaches, and other athletic professionals who offer guidance to student-athletes and their families through the recruiting process.
