Missile Baits sets event at Smith Mountain

The Missile Baits No Entry Fee Tournament will take place May 14 at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. The tournament will be held out of Parkway Marina on the Friday before the Angler’s Choice Marine Tournaments on that Saturday and Sunday.

Using only Missile Baits soft plastics and skirted Missile Jigs, anglers will compete for a guaranteed $4,000 total payout, with the winning team taking home a guaranteed $2,000.
John Crews, company owner and pro angler, said, “We had really good participation in our tournaments in 2019, but then the COVID put the kibosh on holding our events in 2020. We loved the interaction with our customers and giving people a reason to bass fish. Smith Mountain is in our backyard, so we had to up the payout.”

Anglers must register on the Missile Baits website for the tournament and optional side pot. The tournament weigh in will be streamed live on YouTube and the Top 5 finishers will be interviewed for future videos.

Participants will not be allowed to have any other brand of soft plastics or skirted jigs, bladed jigs or hard baits in their boat and will be subject to random boat searches.

Due to evolving COVID regulations in Virginia, certain safety procedures will be followed. Watch the Missile Baits website and social media for updates, more tournament details and other information as the event draws nearer.
