Hall-of-Famer Campbell dies at 87

Charlie Campbell, the former high school basketball coach who turned to professional angling after winning the B.A.S.S. Federation Championship in 1974 and went on to compete in 229 B.A.S.S. events and five Bassmaster Classics, died this week in his native Missouri. He was 87.

Campbell, who represented Bass Pro Shops for decades, helped the company design the Bass Tracker boat. He was credited with 67 tournament wins across various circuits and was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2008.
