FLW Pro Circuit: Spots will play big at Martin

FLW Pro Circuit: Spots will play big at Martin

> What: FLW Pro Circuit
> Where: Lake Martin (Alexander City, Ala.)
> When: Wednesday through Saturday (March 18-21)
> At stake: A top prize of up to $135,000 (including contingencies)
> Expected field size: 150 boats
> What they’re saying: “Lake Martin is a really good place to fish and it really allows guys to fish to their strengths,” said Pro Circuit angler Jamie Horton of Centerville, Ala., who has 21 career top-10 finishes in FLW competition. “The fishing has been good and with the way the weather is setting up the lake should be on fire. I think we’re fixing to see a really, really good tournament. Spotted bass will be a very big factor. The spots have gotten so much bigger because of the herring and there are just so many more of them now. That being said, I think it’ll take a mixed bag of spotted bass and largemouth bass to win the tournament. I don’t think we’ll see too many limits of just largemouth. The key to doing well will be guys that figure out how to catch them both.”
> Last tour-level event at Lake Martin:
Feb. 8-11, 2018 (Bassmaster Elite Series)
> Winner: Takahiro Omori (59-08)
