Fish could be transitioning at Oneida Lake Open

Fish could be transitioning at Oneida Lake Open

> What: Bassmaster Eastern Open
> Where: Oneida Lake (N.Y.)
> When: Thursday through Saturday (Sept. 5-7)
> At stake: A Bassmaster Classic berth and a top prize in excess of $50,000
> Expected field size: 160-plus boats
> What they’re saying: “It’s not going to be a slugfest, I don’t believe – just because of the timing of the year,” said Bassmaster Elite Series standout and native New Yorker Jamie Hartman. “The temperatures just started dropping pretty hard at night last week and the water has cooled down quite a bit. Transition here means you may have to figure out something new every day. I think you’ll see a few big bags weighed in early in the tournament, but then it’ll start dropping right off. Without a doubt, you’ll have to stay on the move to have any hopes of winning because the fish will be on the move each day.”
> Last Bassmaster Open at Oneida: June 29-July 1, 2017
> Winner: Stanley Sypeck (55-08)
