Format for Redcrest finalized

Major League Fishing announced today the format that will be used at the Bass Pro Tour Redcrest championship, which begins in 12 days on the upper Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wis. The competition will play out over five days on Pool 7 and Pool 8.

The 30-angler field will compete for two days (Aug. 21-22) on Pool 8 with the top 20 competitors advancing to the Knockout Round based on their two-day cumulative weight.

Those 20 anglers will be split into two groups of 10 with the first group competing on Aug. 23 and the second group hitting the water on Aug. 24. With weights zeroed, the top 5 finishers from each group will advance to the Championship Round on Aug. 25, when weights are zeroed again, and the winner will be determined by most weight caught that day on Pool 7.
