B.A.S.S., FLW teaming with RBFF for survey

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF), in cooperation with B.A.S.S. and FLW, is seeking former and current members, coaches, advisors, volunteers, and sponsors of high school fishing clubs and programs to participate in a nationwide survey. The survey is being conducted by Southwick Associates and all responses and identities will remain fully confidential.

With the focus on developing lifelong participants, the sportfishing community has implemented many strategies to recruit, retain and reactivate (R3) anglers. Fishing clubs, teams, and programs for high school students are a rapidly growing part of the picture, and RBFF, B.A.S.S. and FLW are working to determine how to set these programs up for success. While thousands of youth are participating, the needs and success of these efforts are not known. This survey will provide the insights needed to best manage and help support programs serving high school-aged anglers.

“Our 2018 Special Report on Fishing showed that fishing participation was nearly non-existent when the individual was not introduced to the activity before the age of 18,” said RBFF president & CEO Frank Peterson. “That’s why programs that focus on creating anglers at younger ages is so critical. We’re happy to partner with B.A.S.S. and FLW on making youth fishing programs even better than they are today.”

All former and current members, coaches, advisors, volunteers, and sponsors of fishing clubs for high school students are encouraged to participate in the survey.
