The Mille Lacs Smallmouth Alliance and the Classic Basss Champions Tour will partner to conduct the inaugural Free the Fighter Team Big Bass Challenge on Oct. 6 at Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota.
The top prize is $5,000 and the total purse is $12,000 (based on a full field of 50 boats). There will also be five merchandise winners from morning and afternoon sessions.
The entry fee is $350 per team, with $50 from each entry going to the MLSA High School Scholarship Fund. A high school angler will accompany each team and serve as the boat official, who will watch each bass being weighed, record the weight and enforce any rule violations that take place during the catch, weigh and release event.
