The boat and trailer of FLW Tour angler Derrick Blake were recovered today, stripped of virtually all contents and accessories, including the outboard, trolling motor, Power-Poles and electronics.
Blake posted photos of the boat on his Facebook page earlier this afternoon (see below).
Blake’s boat, trailer and truck were stolen from the parking of the Days Inn and Suites in Roseville, Mich., early Monday morning. Security camera footage shows two men breaking into Blake’s Chevy Suburban and turning right out of the parking lot with another man following behind in another vehicle.
Authorities are continuing to look for Blake’s truck, which contained fishing tackle and numerous personal items, including children’s car seats.
Blake and his wife, along with their two-week-old son and 4-year-old son were in town as Blake prepared for the Lake St. Clair FLW Tour. He will compete out of a boat loaned to him by FLW and use tackle donated by fellow competitors and sponsors.
