Christie cracks $1M with B.A.S.S., joins select club

With his 36th-place finish at the Lake Martin Elite Series last week, Jason Christie collected $10,000 and pushed his career earnings with B.A.S.S. past the $1 million mark, making him the fifth angler to reach the $1 million plateau with both B.A.S.S. and FLW.

Christie, who has three Elite Series wins and two Bassmaster Open victories, needed 64 tournaments to reach the milestone on the B.A.S.S. side. His B.A.S.S. earnings now stand at $1,005,448. He's won $1,042,403 with FLW in 143 tournaments.

He joins George Cochran, Greg Hackney, Larry Nixon and Jay Yelas in the exclusive club and did it without having won a Bassmaster Classic, Forrest Wood Cup or Angler of the Year title and the hefty paydays that go with them. The other four anglers have four Classic wins, two Cup wins and six AOY titles among them.

Here's a breakdown of the anglers who've won more than $1 million with each organization:

> Jason Christie: $1,005,448 (B.A.S.S.); $1,042,403 (FLW)
> George Cochran: $1,110,609 (B.A.S.S.); $1,073,038 (FLW)
> Greg Hackney: $2,282,284 (B.A.S.S.); $1,174,783 (FLW)
> Larry Nixon: $1,634,858 (B.A.S.S.); $1,814,787 (FLW)
> Jay Yelas: $1,363,957 (B.A.S.S.); $1,047,079 (FLW)
