Who doesn't like a good tackle trend in the bass fishing industry?

They seem to pop up all the time. A few years ago, the umbrella rig spawned a cottage industry unto to itself. Then deep-diving crankbaits became the rage. All the while there's always something new on the finesse side.

Topwater baits are no different. No longer is a frog and Spook the be all and end all of topwater bass fishing. We've identified a few more tactics that have been thrust into the spotlight recently, including the Whopper Plopper, which got its start as a musky bait.
