Wisconsin bass regs

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress and Dept. of Natural Resources will hold its statewide sessions April 10, at which a number of proposed regulations will be voted on. However, aside from votes, the Conservation Congress is also seeking public input on a number of bass-related topics. Among those are whether anglers would support:

  • A closure of smallmouth-bass fishing until June 30.

  • Establishment of a catch-and-release smallmouth season on Lake Michigan and Green Bay from the first Saturday in May through June 20.

  • A reduction of the Lake Michigan and Green Bay daily limits from five to three smallmouths.

The Conservation Congress is an independent organization of Wisconsin citizens elected in their own counties by local county residents. They represent their county's interest on all natural resources issues on a local and statewide basis. To learn more about the Congress, click here.
