BASS records in jeopardy?

The Amistad Bassmaster Elite Series is now underway, and the bite's red-hot. We won't know how hot until today's weigh-in, but considering what took place 2 weeks ago at the Amistad Central Stren, a number of BASS weight records could be in jeopardy. Here's a look at key BASS records that might be vulnerable today and through the weekend.

Heaviest 4-Day Weight (Five-Bass Limit)
> 108-12, Dean Rojas, Jan. 17-20, 2001 (Lake Toho, Fla.)

Heaviest 1-Day Catch (Five-Bass Limit)
> 45-02, Dean Rojas, Jan. 17, 2001 (Lake Toho, Fla.)

Largest Bass Caught
> 14-09, Mark Tyler, April 15, 1999 (California Delta, Calif.)

The toughest record to break will likely be Rojas' 108-12, 4-day catch. Anglers launched this morning amidst a wind advisory from the National Weather Service for all of south-central Texas. The advisory, in place through 5:00 p.m. today, calls 20 to 30 mph westerly winds with isolated gusts to 40 mph.

Winds are expected to subside later this afternoon and become moderate through the weekend.
