Fisher bounces back to win Series crown

Pat Fisher of Colbert, Georgia weighed a five-bass limit totaling 15 pounds even Saturday to win the FLW Series Championship on Table Rock Lake. Fisher’s 3-day total of 40-04earned him $50,200 and a spot in the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup.

“I haven’t fished at this level in years, so this tournament was like a family reunion,” said Fisher, who spent 8 years on the FLW Tour before stepping away in 2008. “I’ve always been very competitive, so it feels great to win."

“I came into this event after having the worst practice I’ve ever had."

The top finishing boater from each of the six FLW Series divisions who qualified for the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup were:

> Southeastern – 1. Pat Fisher, Colbert, Ga., (15, 40-04)
> Southwestern – 2. Cody Bird, Granbury, Texas (15, 38-11)
> Central – 4. Greg Bohannan, Bentonville, Ark. (15, 33-01)
> Northern – 11. Joel Richardson, Kernersvill, N.C. (10, 19-14)
> Western – 29. Roy Hawk, Lake Havasu City, Ariz. (6, 15-10)
> International – 51. Hyo chul Kim, South Korea (6, 11-05)

Additionally, the overall top 5 finishers who were not already selected as the highest finisher in their division qualify for the 2017 Cup. Those five anglers were:

5. Christopher Jones, Bokoshe, Okla. (14, 31-07)
6. Travis Fox, Rogers, Ark. (12, 28-03

15 bass, 36-14, $20,000

The 2017 Forrest Wood Cup will be held Aug. 11-13 at Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina.
