Bassmaster pro Scott Rook of Arkansas confirmed that he's signed a big non-endemic sponsorship deal with Alltel, the wireless services provider. The agreement includes a boat- and truck-wrap.
More details of the deal will be released soon. "I've signed the contract, but some of the stuff is still being worked out," he said. "We should have everything together by next week."
Alltel has sponsored NASCAR driver Ryan Newman for several years. This is its first foray into fishing. "The thing with Newman has been very successful for them, so they decided to test the waters in the fishing market," he said.
