Divisionals are back

BASS's original plan for its new Federation Nation called for the elimination of the six divisional tournaments, through which anglers qualified for the Federation National Championship. Instead, state Federations were to begin sending their state champions directly to the national tournament.

But in a recent Powerpoint presentation sent to Federation members that outlined the plan, the divisionals were back in place.

BassFan obtained this quote from a BASS official: "After much consideration of a request by BASS Federation presidents, BASS has decided to maintain the six divisional championship tournaments under the Federation Nation in 2006 and beyond, as has been conducted in the past. All other aspects of the tournament structure previously announced this week remain in place."
