Vermilyea leaves Elites

Bassmaster Elite Series rookie Matt Vermilyea has pulled the plug on his rookie season after just two events due to financial constraints. He announced his decision in a blog post on his website.

"If your business was costing you thousands and bringing zero return, what would you do?" he asked in the blog post. "Would you try to get a loan and go further in debt? Or would you cut your losses and move on?"

The Ohioan logged finishes of 83rd and the St. Johns River and 106th at Winyah Bay.
