The start of day 1 of the Winyah Bay Elite Series has been delayed due to a storm front moving from the west across the area around Georgetown, S.C., where the field is blasting off from.
The delay is likely to be an hour or possibly more, which could significantly alter the plans of those anglers who'd planned to make long runs to start the tournament. Winds in the 40 to 50 mph range along with pea-sized hail were expected as part of the storm, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
