With as shallow as many of the Bassmaster Classic competitors were fishing last week at Grand Lake, there was plenty of attention paid to making sure hooks stayed sharp because of the amount of rock and wood that was strewn around the lake in the 1- to 6-foot range. A lot of the fish were only swiping at the baits and anglers reported that many of their catches were "barely hooked" once they got them in the boat.
