General Tire increases fishing presence

General Tire, which has sponsored Major League Fishing since 2013, announced today that it's dramatically increasing its presence in the sport. The company will sponsor Bassmaster Elite Series standouts Skeet Reese and Edwin Evers, and has also inked deals with B.A.S.S. and FLW.

“I'm really excited to be working with such a respected company like General Tire,” said Reese. “They’ll be a great asset to our sport and will help expose fishing to a whole new consumer.”

Added Evers: "I couldn't be more excited to be with a company who is going to be so involved with fishing. They have made a big commitment to support bass fishing and I am looking forward to our partnership together."

General will continue its deals with Elite Series pros John Crews and Britt Myers, which were initiated in 2015.

The company's partnership with B.A.S.S. will give it a major presence at four Elite Series events this year. Its package with FLW includes sponsorship of the launch ramp at all Tour events.

“We’re excited to announce our partnership with General Tire and welcome them to the FLW family,” said FLW president of marketing Trish Blake. “FLW’s members and fans are among the most loyal consumers available and General Tire will now have access to the hundreds of thousands of anglers that we reach each month.”

The tire brand will remain as the title sponsor of MLF's General Tire Summit Cup and will also support the Summit Selects.
