Brandon McMillan closed out a dominant season in the Bassmaster Southern Opens by winning the last of the three events at Georgia's Lake Seminole on Saturday with a 3-day total of 49-05. The Floridian's 9-13 final-day weight amounted to less than half of what he'd caught on each of the previous 2 days, but still left him with a victory margin of nearly 4 pounds.
McMillan, who wrapped up the circuit's points title (and a berth in the 2016 Elite Series) on day 2, earned a Bassmaster Classic slot by virtue of his victory. He caught all of his fish punching grassbeds with a Zoom Z Craw (full details of his winning pattern will be posted soon).
Randall Tharp ended up 2nd with 45-06, followed by Chad Grigsby with 44-10.
