Chad Gay, the former head of communications for FLW, has launched a new company called chatcat PR, a media company geared toward angler promotion and marketing.
Gay, who resides near Knoxville, Tenn., brings nearly 20 years of experience in the news media and public relations industries to his new endeavor. Gay and Karen Finchum, who has a background in sports, will form the leadership team of the new company.
“What we’re doing with chatcat PR is going to totally change the way fishing fans view professional fishing,” Gay said. “We’re going to represent anglers in a way that the industry hasn’t seen. Gone are the days of photos of guys holding fish by the lip. That’s been done. For five decades. We’re going to focus on the guys and their personalities and how they can best represent and benefit their sponsors. We’re going to change the way it’s been done. We’re going to make these guys’ personalities known to both fishing fans and the rest of the world. It’s time to shake things up. It’s time for change.”
