Bass Cat Boats founder Ron Pierce turned 80 on Friday and the company celebrated with a party in its original manufacturing facility in Mountain Home, Ark. Pierce launched the company in 1971 following a successful stint in the plastics industry and after he and wife Jan (pictured alongside Ron) had operated a drive-in restaurant for a short time. The company is now run by their son, Rick.
