Curtiss rallies for Delta triumph

Wade Curtiss rallied from 10th place after day 2 behind a 22-07 stringer today to capture the win at the California Delta Western Rayovac Series. He overcame a deficit of 1 pound, 10 ounces to finish with 61-13 and record his first career FLW victory.

“This has been an amazing tournament,” said Curtiss. “After starting the day in 10th place, I knew I’d have my work cut out for me. And I honestly didn’t think that I had enough weight to win it. This is my seventh or eighth tournament that I’ve competed in on the Delta, and to get the win is just so sweet.”

Curtiss said that he fished, “from the north end of the Delta to the south end of the Delta,” targeting grass beds and big flats.

Ken Mah wound up 2nd with 59-09 with David Valdivia taking 3rd with 55-13. Chris Parks (4th, 55-13) and Stephen Tosh Jr. (55-05) rounded out the Top 5.
