A leak discovered last week at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant near Athens, Ala. resulted in a spill of between 100 and 200 gallons of radioactive water, some of which may have reached the Tennessee River after mixing with millions of gallons of cooling water. TVA officials are monitoring the water and have detected no elevated levels of radioactive pollutants.
