FLW Tour roster capped at 152

FLW Tour roster capped at 152

FLW today announced its pared down roster for the 2015 Tour events.

Last year’s angler roster featured 180 names, but after soliciting input from anglers the organization decided to downsize and cap its field size at 150 for 2015. This year’s field will actually be 152 as Stacey King and three-time Angler of the Year Clark Wendlandt were granted exemptions as each had to withdraw from competition at different points during the 2014 season due to medical reasons.

There are several anglers with previous Tour experience who are returning in 2015: Alvin Shaw, Michael Murphy, Mark Goines, Michael Hall, Dale Hightower and Derrick Snavely.

The rookie class includes 17 anglers while Tracy Adams and Pete Ponds will be newcomers, but not rookies, after switching over from the Elite Series.

Cody Bird, Bill Day, Philip Jarabeck, Brandon McMillan, Ray Scheide and Jason Quinn are among the notable anglers who competed last year, but aren’t listed on the 2015 roster. Last week, Day announced he would give up his spot so he could focus more on his boat dealership.

Ish Monroe and David Smith are the only anglers listed on both the Bassmaster Elite Series roster and FLW Tour lineup for this year.

The six-tournament season will kick off March 5-8 at Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Fla.
