Contec, Inc. announced today it has added Bassmaster Elite Series angler Bill Lowen to its Fish-D-Funk team. Contec is a South Carolina-based company that makes sprays and cloth wipes that are designed to remove odors from hands, boat surfaces, coolers and even pets.
“Bill brings a wealth of fishing and hunting experience to the company and our products,” said Contec senior R&D engineer Emma Phillips. “We are very much looking forward to Bill’s involvement with our product line and the development of new D-Funk products for the fishing and outdoor industries.”
After being introduced to Contec's products in 2013, Lowen has been impressed by the product development and applications.
“Along with Emma, we recently did live demos at the ICAST show in Orlando with their D-Funk products and people were absolutely blown away by how well D-Funk products remove all smells," he said. "The products work on coolers, boats, hands and even on dogs. There are so many things that can happen on the water beyond my control, so I manage all the variables I can. Unwanted scents like gasoline, oil, sun block and bug spray have no business on my fishing lures. Scent management is a big deal in hunting and an overlooked area in fishing. Believe me, it helps me catch more fish.”
