Of the 14 pros who fished both the FLW Tour and Bassmaster Elite Series in 2014, Jason Christie, the No. 1-ranked angler in BassFan's World Rankings, had the best average finish across the 18 tour-level events in which he competed.
Christie was one of two pros to fish 18 events (full FLW and Elite Series schedules, plus the Bassmaster Classic, Toyota Texas Bass Classic and Forrest Wood Cup) and posted a 30.44 average finish. He had one victory (Lake Dardanelle Elite Series), finished in the money 15 times and made the final-day cut at four events.
Casey Ashley, fishing both tours for the first time, had an average finish of 31.59, which included a win at the Lake Hartwell FLW Tour. He led the group with seven final-day cuts. Matt Herren didn't record a win this season, but he was consistently strong across the 16 events he fished, finishing an average of 34.63 and making four cuts.
Brett Hite had two early-season victories and those helped his average finish (34.75) over 16 tournaments. Elite Series Angler of the Year Greg Hackney also won twice in 15 tries and had an average placement of 36.27.
