Maine certainly isn't a hotbed of bass fishing. If it were, then legislation that's likely to be introduced in the state legislature next month would probably never see the light of day.
As reported earlier this year, the Pine Tree State is considering all all-out ban on soft-plastic baits under the premise that they damage fish populations and the environment. If it passes, it could launch a domino effect leading to prohibitions on other types of tackle in that state and others around the country.
