Last week's Lake St. Clair Bassmaster Elite Series was a punishing event for competitors who made long runs to lakes Erie or Huron each day. BassFan columnist Joe Balog, who holds a degree in fisheries science and works regularly with the top biologists in the Great Lakes region, says it's high time we start considering the welfare of the fish that make those grueling journeys in the livewells of anglers in the hundreds of tournaments at every level of competition.
