Major League Fishing posted a story on its website today in which officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission laud the organization's format, which includes immediate release of fish, penalties for mishandling fish, etc. The officials' comments stemmed from what they witnessed last fall when MLF conducted an event at Lake Istokpoga.
“It won’t be an easy sell, and it might take a few years, but Major League Fishing implements ideas that are good for our fisheries and, I think, good for tournament fishing," said FWC regional fisheries administrator Allen Martin. "Clubs around our state have now seen the Major League Fishing guys doing something new and different that works."
