Spro frog derbies set for Miss. River, G'ville

Spro and the Iowa B.A.S.S. Nation will team up to conduct a Spro frog-only tournament on Aug. 11 in Mississippi River pools 8, 9 and 10. The event will launch out of the Village Creek Ramp in Lansing, Iowa.

The entry fee is $110 per team, which includes a big-bass pot that will pay down to 3rd place. Participants registered by Aug. 2 will receive the Cabela's employee discount for the week of the tournament and will be drawn for early boat position.

Contestants must follow Iowa B.A.S.S. Nation rules. Only largemouth bass may be weighed in and the minimum length is 14 inches. All participants must be willing to take a polygraph exam.

Another Spro frog-only tournament will take place Sept. 7 at Lake Guntersville, launching out of Goosepond. The entry fee is $100 per team, plus $10 for the big-bass pool.

Spro lures, hats and shirts will be given away, along with Duckett rods, T&H Marine products, Hooters gift cards and a $500 gift certificate toward the purchase of a new Power-Pole.
