Japanese bait manufacturer DUO/Realis announced that it's hired David Swendseid, formerly of Jackal, as a product specialist. Swendseid, at one time the holder of the Oregon smallmouth bass weight record, has a long track record in the industry and is particularly knowledgeable about products originating in Asia.
"His reputation and experience is well-founded,” said DUO/Realis GM Martin Bakos.
“He is knowledgeable when it comes to lure action and the utility parameters that surround design. He knows the market from baits to bass boats and understands the needs of bass anglers."
Said Swendseid: “Another reason I was so drawn to DUO, they are one of Japan’s few companies that is completely vertical; meaning from concept and design articulation, to multi-dimensional manufacturing, all their work is done in-house (Japan). Some of the most popular Japanese lure companies actually have their lures manufactured outside Japan with continuous challenges regarding quality control.”
