New Reese reels

New Reese reels

Remember when Skeet Reese told BassFan that he'd have a new reel sponsor to announce this summer? Turns out it's Wright & McGill – the same company that manufactures his relatively new series of signature Tessera rods.

Wright & McGill announced the news at the ICAST tradeshow this week.

The new reels will be called the Victory series. Reese's partnership with Wright-McGill, since its start, has been geared toward quality, affordable products and the Victory reels continue that strategy. The reels carry an MSRP of $119.99, although the manufacturer noted they'll more likely sell for $99.99.

Reese noted in the official announcement: "Wright & McGill and I feel strongly about providing anglers high-quality products that they can afford to fish. I've been testing these reels – they're what I use on tour – and they'll meet the needs and budgets of any angler."

Two other noteworthy bits: Wright & McGill announced new Skeet Reese Micro Honeycomb rods as well as a Skeet Reese Jr. Champion combo for kids that matches a spincast reel with a Tessera casting rod.

> Reese previously fished with Abu Garcia reels and had a signature-series Revo model.
